Cheap and cheerful

There is no doubt that when travelling with the low cost airlines you get what you pay for.  In this respect easyJet is no different; however the main difference to the airline is the attitude of the staff.  It did not seem to matter where we were particularly the staff were courteous, polite and professional.

The trip that we took was from Amsterdam, via London Gatwick to Gran Canaria.  The flights were generally uneventful.  We had checked in online, and we had paid of one checked bag.  The check in was easy, the only pain was the fact that we had to collect and recheck the bags in London, which meant collecting them.  Coming back we had a six hour overnight wait at Gatwick.  This was a pain, especially as we had to collect and recheck the bag.  Also because of the rechecking of the bags, and the fact that the airport (air side) was closed through the night, means that you break the security chain.  This means that you cannot take liquids from one flight to another.  The check in was open for bag drops though the night, which was convenient, and meant that we were able to get rid of the bag shortly after we arrived.

Biggest minus: Gatwick Airport
