Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
Without doubt, Schiphol
is a firm favourite with business and leisure travellers having to connect
between flights. Its options for
passengers arriving and departing from the Netherlands are no less impressive,
with rail connections from under the airport, and a large land side shopping
area. Transfer passengers are equally
well treated with clear lines signage and a simple to follow gate displays. Food choices are limited to the normal range
of fast food and chains. Quiet places to
sit and wait are often hard to find in the main concourse, but head upstairs
and there is a wide range of choices, but be warned, the announcements are not
as loud up here – so if you are planning to catch up on a bit of sleep, make
sure you have some sort of alarm to wake you...
The airport also has a
wide range of other things to do, including an art gallery and casino.
Rotterdam Airport
Rotterdam is a small regional airport, favoured by
regional and low cost airlines. As an airport it serves the cities of
both Rotterdam and The Hague. The airport has limited
facilities but benefits from shorter check in times.
Eindhoven
Eindhoven airport in the south of the country has seen rapid growth over the last few years with the advent of low cost carriers. The airport is a short ride by bus from the main city station, from where trains connections across the rest of the country are available
