Perhaps you've been visited the country several times to enjoy the sunshine, nice weather and wonderful tapas and to have a fantastic holiday without the stress and grey weather in the UK.  It could be like me, you learnt Spanish, at school or for leisure, you enjoy Spanish music and Flamenco, and you know everything about the movies of Pedro Almodovar, You have always been attracted by "caliente" (hot) people and then loving the people and everything about Spain.

The relationship must be reciprocal and that's why it is important to know more about your host, culture, lifestyle, habits.  You are not in the UKbut  in Spain so try to open yourself with more understanding of what's going on.
