Singapore Airline's A380
makes its debut with the first commercial flight to Paris, with discretion

On Tuesday the 2nd of June, An Airbus A380, the world's biggest passenger
jet, landed in Paris Charles de Gaulle airport for its first commercial flight
between Paris Charles de Gaulle airport and Singapore, the official welcoming
ceremony was cancelled due to the Air
France disaster between Rio in Brazil and Paris, France.
Airbus' jumbo A380 plane made a landmark flight on Tuesday when it flew
from Paris to Singapore -- kicking off new scheduled service and marking the
first return-trip flight out of continental Europe.
Singapore Airlines already runs A380
flights from Singapore to Sydney, London and Tokyo.
Singapore Airlines was the first customer to take delivery of the A380 in October 2007.
Also this week, Emirates is kicking off A380 service from Dubai to Bangkok
and Toronto -- which is the first A380 commercial service to those cities.
Yesterday, Emirates said that two A380s -- each bound for opposite sides of
the world -- combined carried 978 meals, about 22 tons of cargo and 60 cabin
crew members who could speak more than 20 languages
