A typical French starter to impress your guests and so easy to make! A great option for people looking to put
something together quickly, providing a great introduction for BBQ’s or summer
luncheons.
Ingredients (Serves 2)
- 1 salade (
laitue/lettuce, feuille de chêne, scarole/curly endive)
- 1 buche de chevre ( a log of goat’s milk cheese)
- 1 or 2 slice(s) of bread per person ( pain de campagne, pain
complet)
Sauce salad
For the sauce salad:
One spoon of French mustard, one glove of garlic, 3 soup spoons of olive
oil, lemon, just blend them all in the blender.
Putting the Salad together
Prepare the salad ( just wash and dry it gently in a dishtowel) , put it in the plates, add the sauce on top.
Slice the bread, slice the goat cheese.
Put a slice of cheese on each slice of bread, grill them for
4-6 minutes, until the cheese starts to colour
As soon as it’s grilled, put the bread on the salad, serve
immediately.
Alternatives, Should you not want to use Goats Cheest, try a Camembert or Brie. For the Salad try a mix of leaves
Serve with a cold French White Wine
