 After a long day, walking on the beach, if you are searching for
something authentically Spanish, and good for a laugh, then look no further
than the Terry Show. Why the Terry Show,
compared to the many others that dot the Yumbo center and the rest of the city,
first of all it is one of the few genuine Canarian bars in the city, famous for
its late night Spanish Drag Cabaret, on Fridays and Saturday nights, with
additional shows on bank holidays, and during peak season.
The Terry Show, will take you on a tour of
international stars, with artists performing in a mix of English, Spanish, and
French. Last night we heard, the Spanish
version of “My Way”, I was touched by the emotional tribute to Shirley Bassey,
and the performance of the grand dame of the show singing Paris Paname in French. Some of the performers are
truly exultant; Malena Seville for example and the show is so over the top,
with a terrific sense of humor, it will all but guarantee a good time. Nearly all of the music is Spanish, this
makes it very popular with locals, and tourists alike. The bar is completely attitude free, a huge
contrast form other bars in the Yumbo, which tend to be a mix of national
ghettos. It is now 5 years in a row,
that we have not missed a show , when in Grand Canaria, each time the show is
fresh, and new.
The Terry show defiantly attracts a varied and enthusiastic
audience. It was amazing to see the bar,
and those next door, often empty filling up as soon as the show starts. Don’t worry if you do not speak Spanish, the
Terry show will welcome you into the Spanish heart, with there passion and love
for life. The Terry Show is located on the
first floor of the famous Jumbo centre, and is an entertaining mix of Cabaret,
carnival and music hall, all in one heady mix.
The show starts at 11pm, and is definitely not to be missed, for an
unforgettable evening.
