The credit crunch and the bad weather cause air traffic from Paris to plunge

Aéroports de Paris (ADP) has announced that traffic from Paris crashed by 7.8% in January meaning that the 2 main airports for the French capital Charles de Gaulle 6.5% and Orly 10.7%

Pressure on our wallets is resulting in air travel falling out of fashion from Paris.  Aéroports de Paris (ADP) has announced in January that air traffic slowed down due to the credit crunch and extremely bad weather at the start of the year, this combined with a national strike on the 29th of January.  In January Charles de Gaulle welcomed 4.1million (-6.5%) and Orly 1.8 Million (-10.7%).  The air traffic in France (Excluding French Overseas Departments) has reduced by 12.4%.  Traveling to Europe has dropped by 9.5 % especially from the UK and Ireland (-7.3%) said the manager of Paris airports including the 3 main airports for Paris of Paris, Charles de Gaulle, Orly and le Borget. On other destinations the traffic reduced by around 4%, with the passenger load remaining balanced.  Traffic across the Atlantic to North America dropped by -6.4% and by -5.5% for South America.  From Asia the traffic dropped 8.4% and -4.7% from the Middle East.  Only flights to Africa maintained any form of growth win an increase of 1.8%.
